Hood and Boots

Red t: Country Road / Leather panel knit: Country Road / Hooded jacket: Witchery / Skirt: French Connection / Necklace: Vintage / Bag: See by Chloe / Boots: Midas / Watch: RumbaTime from Shopbop

Torrential rain and quite cool here today but it didn't dampen our spirit to go out for our usual Saturday coffee (today at Brother Espresso at Bulimba) and a walk around some local boutiques. Quite the chain store mascot for my favourite chains today I realised ha ;-) I think I underestimated just how useful this hooded jacket would be, particularly in the rain! Later picked up some ingredients for the above slow roasted greek lamb recipe (Real Living magazine past issue), (30mins food prep / FIVE hours roasting.. wowsas) for a perfect night in snuggled under a blanket!

You may also notice the wild growth in our planter box...

Looking forward to snow peas galore! By the way, we are definitely not expert gardeners by any means and they popped up in a week - clearly would be a good beginners project if you are looking at starting a vegie patch yourself!

Hope you've had a lovely Saturday!

The Squid's Fist! SYP love.

Some Young Punks (http://someyoungpunks.com.au/) has been a firm favourite of ours for a while, we love the mash up awesomeness of all of their wines. It is fairly easy to tell a SYP by their labels, they are creative, quirky and sometimes retro. One of our favourites is the Squid's Fist, which is Sangiovese/Shiraz blend. When we heard about an opportunity to taste and talk with the winemakers themselves at a wine tasting recently, we jumped at the opportunity. They were lovely and so passionate about what they do. They had these posters instead of banners at their stand and they so very kindly gave one to us to keep, we figured we had to do it justice by having it framed and displaying it on our study wall at home!

Cottage Gardening

Recent gardening efforts! Looks like just mulch in the planter but we have planted climbing snow peas and eggplant and have a pot with two varieties of basil and a pot with various salad greens  :)

Planter box- curbside collected.. (yep. I'm that crazy fitting this into the back of our car. It involved a call to Mr B to assist with lifting!)
Pots- curbside collected
One of the best books I have been able to find on vegie patch-ing with step by steps.

Ultimate goal? Rip up all our pavers and replace them with something that looks like this! (pics from a community garden near us) We love the idea of not needing to go to the fruit & veg shop.. being able to just access our back garden for some of the essentials.

Oh and a pic of our quirky new indoor plant in antique mop bucket!
